Gratitude: The Secret Scene-Stealer
Gratitude doesn’t always get top billing. It’s usually somewhere in the credits, slipping by while the spotlight shines on bigger emotions—joy, sadness, anger, excitement. But here’s the twist: gratitude has a way of stealing the scene every single time, and keeping a gratitude journal can help highlight its importance.

I’ve found that when I pause long enough to actually name what I’m grateful for, the whole story shifts. Suddenly the “hard day” becomes a day where a friend texted at just the right moment. The “boring week” becomes a week where I finally noticed how the light through my window makes the walls glow in the morning. Gratitude zooms in on the details that remind us: hey, this plot is worth watching.
And the best part? Gratitude doesn’t need a grand finale. It shows up in the smallest moments—the first sip of coffee, a quiet walk, a page in your journal.
That’s why I keep gratitude tucked into my daily journaling. It’s my director’s note reminding me where the heart of the story is. And let me tell you—when gratitude has a recurring role, the whole season of life feels different.
🎬 Your Cue: Try it for yourself. In the Starring Me! Journal, you’ve got the perfect stage to practice gratitude. Write down three things each day that you’re thankful for. Big, small, serious, silly—doesn’t matter. What matters is that you give gratitude a speaking part in your story.
Because when you’re the star, gratitude is the scene partner that makes you shine.
